WIPE OUT!!!

We went to St. George over the UEA weekend for a wedding. On friday we all went over to my uncles house where we were able to ride horses, and 4-wheeleers. Bryson was so excited when they brought out the 4 wheelers that were "just his size". He begged, and begged for me to let him go on them, so I gave in. I had the "experienced" guy show him the basics and let him ride. I only had a few RULES: Must wear a helmet, Must have an adult following him on a different 4 wheeler, and to stay on the Dirt road on the side of the house. About an hour after I let him start riding the 4wheeler Bryson walks up to me. His face was beat red and his eyes were all swelled up with tears. I asked him what was wrong....He sobbingly told me how he crashed the motorcycle. I started checking out all of his war wounds on his arms, and slowly made it down to his legs....thats when I asked "where are your shoes?" He bravely replied "Oh I lost those in the accident!" I must say that was pretty funny and I wasnt the only one laughing about that. Once I knew he was okay I started questioning him about what had happened and started going over the rules with him again. He spoke up and told me he followed the rules HE HEARD: Well he wore his helmet, he also had adults ride IN FRONT of him (so they didnt see that he crashed), and he did stay on the dirt road (the WHOLE neighborhood was a dirt road, in the middle of nowhere, so he made sure he stayed on that)
I never thought there was any way that he would have mis-understood my direct instructions, but now looking back I can see that if you say you have to "stay on the dirt road" and there is miles and miles of dirt roads, that you might think heck a dirt road is a dirt road!!
He is okay and thats all that matters, all of his welts from landing in the sticker bush were gone by the next morning, his EGO was better in about 15 minutes (as soon as he was WANTING to go ride a different 4wheeler) and his shoes were found near the big sticker bush!

First Snow....

So it is only October 12th and we already had the first snow of the year. Kaleb was so darling he walked outside to see his brother and sister already playing and he said "IT'S A MIRACLE" it snowed. You would have thought it was the first time he had ever been around the snow. The kids spent a good hour and a half of the morning building a Fort. Then of course finished off the cold morning with some Hot Chocolate.
